World Series comes to you.

Of course, the World Series blog post falls to me. Among the team, I seem to be the only one who knows that the World Series starts this week. The Rockies play the Red Sox in what should be a good series. Am I excited? Yes. Can I share my excitement with anyone else here? No. And so I’ll share with you…
I’ve been a baseball fan my whole life. My team is the Giants and I follow them with something bordering on obsession. I think of the 2002 World Series almost every day. The Giants entered the seventh inning of game six leading the Angels 5-0, and they had a 3-2 series lead. They lost that game and the series, and still haven’t won a World Series since moving to California. One of my earliest memories is going to Candlestick Park with my dad and sitting just off first base, and being transfixed by Willie McCovey (my all-time favorite player). It’s like it was yesterday. I go to Spring Training and act like the games count. Enough said…
So of course I use My Yahoo! to follow the Giants and baseball in general. During the season, I check results and schedules using the Scoreboard module. But mostly, I use My! to aggregate baseball content from across the Web. I’ve picked my favorite sources (Yahoo! Sports, ESPN, and MLB.com) and feeds and have them scattered across my page so that I can check them in the morning and throughout the day.
To track the series, I’ve even added Red Sox and Rockies team modules to my page, and my Giants modules are, temporarily, near the bottom (and yes, that feels strange).
I hope you enjoy the series! And I hope your team wins! Because if they don’t and you’re like me, it will be a very, very long winter…

Here’s another page option. Choose the “small search box” setting which not only reduces the size of the search box, but brings everything up a little higher on your page. Sometimes, a bit more space can make a difference…
(Personalize this page > Appearance: Searchbox size > Small)
Also, some of you who already found the small search box option wanted a timestamp at the top of the page (thanks for all the suggestion board additions and blog comments). We’ve added it for you, so now you can quickly see when your page was last updated.
More themes ready and waiting.

What’s sloshing around your page? Everything. That is if you have the new Water theme. Try it today and give your page the clear, bubbly properties of nature’s liquid.
Look for it here:
Personalize > Appearance: Change Color > Environments: Water
Or check out the new Hi Fi theme. Inspired by the texture of a speaker grill and the black gloss and orange text of audio equipment displays, this is a great theme for those of you who want a dark background with a pop of color.
Look for it here:
Personalize > Appearance: Change Color > Textures: Hi Fi
