Celebrate the Festival of Lights with our new Hanukkah theme. It’s complete with dreidles (oriented with the Hey and Shin showing) and kindling lights.

Enjoy!

Stay tuned for more holiday themes. They’re almost ready…

I’d just like to point out that there is no “Chai” on the Dreidle. “Chai” is a combination of two hebrew letters “Chet” and “Yud” and translates to “Live” or “Life” in English.
The two letters shown on Yahoo!’s Dreidle, however, are “Hey” on the right and “Shin” on the left. The four letters on the Dreidle–”Nun”, “Gimel”, “Hey”, “Shin” are an acronym that stands for “Nes Gadol Haya Sham.” which translates to “A great miracle happened there.” This refers to the miracle(s) that occurred on Hanukkah (or whichever way you chose to transliterate it) in Ancient Israel.

P.S. Fun Fact: The “Shin” on Dreidles made in Israel is replaced with a “Pey” which corresponds to the word “Poh” or “Here”…implying the miracle(s) happened here (i.e., there…in Israel).

I am a Gentile, and this Jewish history is very educational and interesting to me.
