Most of you know me by now, I’m Adam and I work on the My Yahoo! Blog.
I spend lots of time going from the blog itself, to WordPress (our blog platform), then to read your comments, and onto MyBlogLog (our data analysis tool).
When I first started on the blog, it was annoying to have to go back and forth from my “History” tab in my browser to get where I needed to go. Then I found Bookmarks!
This is a huge time-saver for me. Most of the links that I frequently use in my Bookmarks do not exist as standalone My Yahoo! modules or RSS feeds, so it’s an awesome way to bundle all of my “go-to” links in one place.
Try out Bookmarks for yourself!

Hi. I really loved the Yahoo bookmarks, esp the way they would appear on My Yahoo page. then they were disabled, and added to the Yahoo Toolbar.. so I had to upgrade my toolbar. I have learnt to like seeing the green plus sign for pages I haven’t added, and the other yellow sign for pages already in my bookmarks. Infact, I have discovered many sites I had bookmarked, but had forgotten.. that Yahoo hadn’t
so the bookmark sign turned yellow (already bookmarked). Well I guess that saved me from bookmarking a site all over again.
I have tried to add this to My Yahoo but I get a message that it is temporarily out of service.
Maybe it’s just as well, bookmarks are handier in the toolbar anyway.
What about being able to sort the bookmarks in any order you want rather than uncustomizable alpha-order?
Hey this blog is super awesome and just to let all you people know I loved the wholw bookmarks thing it is so much easier than just typing it in so if I were you i would get it.
I think that bookmarks are neat and helpfull 2.
Great sharing blogs
i like it too but its not the best bookmark .
Nice tip… I’ve been using del.icio.us which I believe is owned by Yahoo so far, but this Yahoo modules make things even easier.
I agree with Jabi. It’s much nicer to use Yahoo! Bookmarks from Yahoo! Toolbar than as a My Yahoo! module.
Bookmarks users, please see a related July 9th post about Bookmarks and the all new My Yahoo!. You can see it here: http://myyblog.com/blog/2008/07/09/bookmarks-not-quite-right/
I use my My Yahoo! bookmarks a lot and would like to share them with my daughter. I can share all the rest of the My Yahoo! modules with her, but not my bookmarks. That module comes up blank when she opens it. What’s the best way to copy these over to her without having to send them one at a time?
Hi Sheila,
When you share a My Yahoo! page with your daughter, you are sharing the page layout, including which modules are where, what the theme is, etc. However, your bookmarks don’t get shared because they are considered private information.
Having said that, you should be able to share the bookmarks by going to bookmarks.yahoo.com and using the “Export” feature to save your bookmarks to your hard drive. Then your daughter can log in with her Yahoo! ID, go to bookmarks.yahoo.com, and use the “Import” feature to load that file. After that, when she goes to My Yahoo!, she should see those bookmarks on her page.
Note that this is a one time “copy” of your bookmarks, and as you add or remove bookmarks, she won’t automatically see the changes (and vice-versa if she makes changes).
