What’s your favorite module?

With all the great modules to choose from in My Yahoo!, there’s bound to be one that you go to first thing in the morning. Maybe it’s a news source that keeps you in the know, or maybe it’s more of a guilty pleasure that gets your day off to the perfect start.

We want to know about your favorite module…
- What is it?
- What does it do for you?
- How long have you had it on your page?
- Do you share your favorite module with friends?

For me, the Golf News module from Yahoo! Sports gets me into the swing of things every morning. I added the module a few weeks ago and always find myself checking in for the latest updates and tips on how to improve my game. Especially with The Masters next weekend and a “Tiger” on the prowl, this module is the perfect hole-in-one for me.

My Favorite Part of my Yahoo is the Today module because at a glance I can see what is going on in the world. Plus I like the Facebook module also so I can see at a glance who has left messages and posted to my Facebook page. I would love to see more backgrounds for myYahoo.

  2. JJ says:

I have two full pages of modules, but the first I tend to open each day is Associated Press module.

  3. Mike says:

I have 8 pages of modules to look at stuff like favorite teams, new movies, etc. But like the poster above, the first thing I look at (top left on first page) is the Today module. That’s where you see more of what’s going on in the world or hear of things you’d missed. Best place to go!

  4. Speener says:

I love the Twitter module – oh wait, there isn’t one.

I like my personal assistant module vey much.. it would be great if it had my answers profile link there along with my 360 page link.

  6. Jabi says:

I love my mail preview module, and make sure it sits right in the middle of my yahoo page 1, and at a glance can tell the newest emails.. this helps alot when I am expecting a new email.

I also love my bible gateway verse of the day, which I know I have shared with at least one friend, who also put it like me at the top of her page. It’s good to start the day with God.

Finally, I love my calendar because at a glance I can tell whose birthday is coming up.

oh, I also love the newest “note to self” and the “to-do-list” – they both help me plan my day, week because I don’t save my notes, I can save the to-do-list items.

    thanks

I just wanted to leave a comment on the new (individual) modules replacing the old Team Calendar grid module. The team Calendar grid module was always the first thing that I looked at when going into My Yahoo. Please bring it back! Maybe in addition to the new individual ones?

    Thanks,

    Peter

Upon further thought, I like the search box. And the My Yahoo! Chameleon Beta Blog Module too– nice to hear from the team behind the mask.

  13. Gregory says:

    My Notepad!

What happened to it? It is the single most useful feature of Yahoo! next to mail. Please don’t tell me you are end-of-lifeing this feature. I’ll have to move to 37signals to keep notes on the web.

  14. Matt Seitz says:

My favorite: “Top Picks from Your Page”

Shannon: For flickr, I just used the RSS feed for “Photos from my contacts”.

  15. Dixie Meyers says:

I would like a Piano background for my email “PianoCompositions@yahoo.com”

    Thanks.

Cute overload!! Puts a smile on my face first thing in the morning to see all those cute animals :)

  18. Sherry says:

The first thing I like to look at is “CuteOverload”.
Starts my day off with a few laughs. The cute baby animals and the funny comments are great. I’ve had it on my page about 3 months. I’ve told lots of friends about it or sent it to them. Then, I probably look at “Today”.

  19. Harold Risch says:

I like Personal Assistant. I would like it even more if I could use it to access Briefcase. I don’t understand why Briefcase is not accessible through My Yahoo!

  22. Pam says:

Love to play the 5 minute Yahoo! games but all of a sudden cannot access Word Sense or the jigsaw puzzles. Message says cannot load kernel 32 etc. Help please!

  23. Mrs. Medina says:

Well I have to say I really can not decide I like them all. I find out eveyhing in one place, Keep up the good work.

  24. Gale Moses says:

I really like Yahoo for the mail feature and the tools for small businesses. I guess my favorite module is the current news headlines. It gives me news at a glance and if I am interested in a story I can go directly to the source and get more info. It drives my husband nuts because he’s a print journalist and thinks I should be reading newspapers.

Also, since I live in a rural Alaskan village Yahoo is my link to the rest of the world. Although I am an escapee of the urban rat race, I still like to keep in touch!

One thing I would like to see improved are TV listings. The module links to some site that is extremely slow at loading new info.

  25. Raven Ride says:

My favorite thing on my My Yahoo page is the comics. They always make me get in a better mood.

  26. Linda Moore says:

Look at Today > Entertainment and browse the TV Listings. First thing I do when I get to the office!
