It’s still the “Economy”stupid! That is the primary issue of this election, and both Republican and Democrats are to be faulted on the looming financial “meltdown”of”America.Too much politicking and greed of people in the government and the wall street.May “GOD”bless America.Shalom

1. let’s drill for oil and drill now.
2. Quit funding NASA, no one can afford fuel to go to moon right now.
3. Make sure anyone who needs medical attention, gets it.
4. Anyone who has lost a job or needs one gets it.
5. No one will have to worry about social security
6.Cut any agency who is abbreviated ie. FBI,CIA,IRS,FCC,ATF,DEA,FDA, or any other tax sucking department, when the last time they done any good anyway.
7.State and local government must become more reliant(fight corruption and misapproviation of funds, must be more creative in creating local economies), enforce federal guidelines.
8.Funding for persons receiving government sponsored programs such as education, business loans etc. need to be monitored closely, my god they wrote a book on how to scam government agencies.
8. Make it a goal for U.S. to make good quality products manufactured 100 percent in the U.S.A., and give American Citizens a decent wage backe by our government, and give incentives for us to buy our own products.

IS ANYONE RUNNING ON THOSE SUGGESTIONS

Thanks for listening Helen, Randy C

Well, I for one want to see Chris Dodd and Barack Obama sitting in jail for taking all that money for their political gain. When he says that McCain is blaming him for the financial crisis of the world, McCain is right. I am sick of all these politicians taking my money…

I will be voting for Barack Obama. The past 8 years under Bush have been devastating to our country. Obama says he’s for change. I, personally think that he is right. Whether he can bring change is questionable, but 4 more years of Republican greed and corruption will be our introduction into third world status.

I get so tired of people “wanting” from the government. It is a darn good thing that the generations before us, those who fought in both WW, didn’t think as we do or we would certainly be living a different life now. I for one don’t want the government providing me with healthcare, food, clothing, employment and information. That system is called Communism and it fails, always. My expectations from my federal government is to provide security from aggresion. I want my local and federal goverment to provide an infrastructure that allows me to work and provide for myself and my loved ones. I provide a service to my employer, who compensates me commensurately which will allow me to have healthcare, food, clothing, housing and entertainment. I personally don’t want the government to take my money so that others can live a lifestyle near equivalent of mine without their own effort.

I’m going to agree with John on this issue, we as Americans need to change our attitude towards the government. We need to quit sitting back and waiting for the government to do something about our lives. We need people in the White House that are going to protect us and our rights and let us go out and earn money. We need lower taxes which will encourage people to invest. We need government out of our lives. I don’t want my money going to other people who are sitting on their asses, tell them to get up and live the American Dream through hard work.

I’m tired of all the disrespectful comments, one makes about another. Thats not helping the economy at all.Just think about it.
Another thing, I hope to God, the next president we get is does a better job than what bush has done. Our economy is in bad shape. We truely need help, because if we get a president who makes things worst than what it already is now, There will be no need to expect improvement.

LOL, Isn’t that funny that people feel like “I’m so glad that generations before us didn’t think like us” LOL You are so right, because the WELFARE programs were JUST introduced in the 1980’s right? I would reccommend you doing a little research on goverment programs and look and see why they originated in the first place, and for who and to this day who is the greatest percent of recipients.

I am not criticizing anyones opinion, I just don’t like when people only repeat what they have heard instead of learning things on their own so that they can actually have an educated opinion.

NOW, did ANYONE see the debate last night?!?! I just want to ask…what kind of man does not look another man in the face during a DEBATE? That man appears as a coward and has the gull to think he should lead when he seemed nervous and uncomfortable in this non-confrontational setting. If you can look at the debate again and you will know who I am talking about. He never once addressed his opponent directly he just looked like a coward throughout. I was embarrassed for him by his behavior.

I was very skeptical about Mr. Obama at first – not because he is Black – this was never an issue – because he had little experience as a politician. I feared that he would fall into the same trap that Clinton did in his first few years. But Mr. Obama has shown great wisdom and common sense in his views.

I once admired Mr. McCain for being the maverick. I even admired him as the anti-Bush during the 1999-2000 Republican presidential nomination process. He has since relented to Bush, signed off on so much of Bush’s doctrine, and has now become a panderer of populism. On issues he once stood firm on, he now has flipped his positions, most recently on oil (off-coast and ANWAR) and the importance of experience (Palin has zip experience, is highly suspect and only panders to the feminist vote). I can no longer trust his word or have confidence in his judgement.

All of my feelings were confirmed on both candidates after watching the debate last night. Mr. McCain twisted and lied about Mr. Obama’s stances, views, and quotes during the debate, just as he has during this campaign, as has his running mate. He even pulled in the late Dwight D. Eisenhower and misused the great general’s and president’s character by misquoting him and misguiding the then-general’s intentions.
Eisenhower never intended his “fallback” letter as a resignation in the event that D-Day had been a failure – he only meant it as accepting responsibility for its failure. However, Mr. McCain decided to take one aspect of this historic event out of context and exploit it. Both did serve our country. The former has proven himself to be monumental. The latter is waving a false flag. On the other hand, Mr. Obama stayed on course, clarified or refuted Mr. McCain’s misquotes and lies (out of necessity which was part of McCain’s strategy to eat up his opponent’s valuable time), and still rang true in his statements.

I also have a problem with Mr. McCain’s aversion to look Mr. Obama in the eyes. Mr. Obama views Mr. McCain as a worthy and respectable adversary who he may strongly disagree with on policy but can still shake his hand and walk away with a whole heart. Mr. Obama consistently but unsuccessfully tried to gain eye contact with Mr. McCain, who obviously could not look back at his opponent. This to me showed great signs of ambivalence, insecurity, and probably outright hatred for Mr. Obama. This tells me a lot about a person’s character, temperament, and state of mind. Can you imagine Mr. McCain having to deal with a true enemy? It’s a scary thought, especially since the next president will have some serious fence-mending to do with many of our present – and more importantly – our former allies.

Mr. McCain also showed great misjudgment and disregard for our nation’s future. As has been stated many times, Ms. Palin is literally a heart beat away from the presidency – any VP is. I fear the horror of a person of her background and character being elevated to the presidency by default because a 72-year old hot-head felt that eliciting votes in this manner was more important that making sound long-term decisions that he probably won’t have to live with…

If you want something closer to socialism vote for Obama. His words in his speeches indicate that is his direction. That worries me.

McCain, while not my favorite, seems to be middle of the road and pragmatic. He (and Palin) have fought against his own party and will maintain his independent streak.

the whole problem is no one wants to publicly pass the bill and no one wants to pick up a check and their name has to be put in public. so just with those two simple reasons the republicans want the democrats to pass the bill in the majority so the can twist another fact that they screwed up.

Yes!Talk is cheap! How many politicians are between the President and the people in this country?,not to mention the “Haters” who refuse to leave it.
Do you believe any campaign promise can be kept without challenge’s fron a thousand “I’d do it different” politicians?
What ever happened to the majority rules? Special interest groups have taken over and put the majority’s vaules and morals into a third world status.
We all need to read our constitution and love our free country. It is said “God will help those who help themselves” I don’t think God meant to go sign up for welfare.
We need to go back to the basics that built America, and fight to fix a broken system, before there is no system!

While Palin is cute and witty ,it is going to take more than that to deal with the problems our country has today.McCain on the ”other” hand is a shot from the hip kind of hot head that will get us right into WW 3. He’s still anger about Vietnam I am afraid. (Who aint) but we have to move on . That war affected alot of us. He brags about helping viets but -go look at his record. -We dont have a really good choice but I’ll take take the guy with the calmer approach to things today. STOP ,THINK ,then ACT -NOT REACT.-go vote people!!!!!!

think of the colonies they didn’t run to the government for every little thing we need to stand on our own not sitting and waiting for a helping hand. To me that is what made America an Independent America….

Sorry Helen, disagree with you vividly. The reason this presidential election is so exciting isn’t because it’s historical, it is because of the massive amount of people that are fed up with government interventionism that have seen the corrupt process at work. Many of these individuals are contributing to stopping crooked politicians by informing the citizens through their websites with FOIA requests(Judicial Watch, Black Box Voting, TPR). They should be commended for their work behind the scenes to inform ordinary Americans of the atrocities being done to the Constitution. This is why the presidential run has gained so much attention. The people know they are still going to get the short end of the stick no matter who is elected to office, neither one of the candidates pose much of a difference. Anyone trying to put one candidate over another at this point is only playing into the MSM’s hand, as long as you are fed these 2 candidates, most people will not look to a third. It is not a free country when you are only given 2 choices, that is more closer to communism than Russia is now. When people are forced subjection to MSM’s views, individuality is lost.

We seem to forget that behind the politicians there is a myriad of ‘helpers’ who research and feed info to the candidates. There is so much that has to be memorized and scheduled into the rhetoric for each debate, that it takes a great deal of time.

While each candidate has their own ‘agenda’ and opinions to put forth, as with every decision they make, a certain amount of rationalization must be given.

What we need to do as voters is to make sure, regardless of all the finger pointing and name calling (or insinuations), that the candidate we vote for will be still working for us 4 years from now and not feeding additional ‘tripe’ to our already sick legislative process.

McCain has never been my favorite but I will vote for a person that has faught for this great country over a man that walks with theifs and hoodlums. I value this country and it’s people. We are not ready for socialism or healthcare like they have in England. The man can’t talk without the aid of a telepromtor. He wouldn’t join the military because there wasn’t a war going on when he graduated from college. My son joined the Army right out of high school because “there is no greater honor then to serve”. Words is all he has to offer. Emty words… I won’t drink that kool-aid.

If you answer yes to all or most of the following:

1. I want a president that does not have to say “we don’t torture”, then equivocates on the definition of torture.

2. If you agree that stopping terrorism involves 90% police work and intelligence gathering, instead of a war in Iraq that manufactures more jihais via hatred of the occupation.

3. If you agree that one that hates a thing is manifestly incapable of efficiently and competently running that entity: Republican mantra: Government is bad…and then comes Katrina and we all saw the results.

4. If you agree that the results of the last 30 years of merrily stripping regulation and control from our free enterprise economy has led us full circle to the kind of ruinous boom-bust cycles that were prevalent before Roosevelt and the New Deal. Funny how after a quarter century of de-regulation a new 1929 seems suddenly all to possible…

Then you’ll know how to vote on 4 Nov. 8 Years is enough! No third term!

Oh, and Sarah Palin….I am Joe six pack…I’m having a beer right now. She is clearly Joe six pack…and I don’t want Joe six pack one 72 year old heartbeat away from the Presidency.

Enough said!

Why is it that we only hear from the two parties?
Thats because they have complete control of the election and debate process.
Why don,t we hear from other parties? You should listen to Ralph Nader. He talks with more common sense than all the others but his voice is not heard because the Republicans and Democrats have control of the media and the election process.

Wow – the level of desperate behavior is manifesting in the Palin/McCain ticket. I never thought VP candidate McCain would stoop this low. Bringing in Joe Six-pack who is now the de facto presidential candidate was a great error in judgement on McCain’s part – what does this tell everyone about his irrational and desperate behavior? Now, with both of them whipping out half-truths, McCarthy-esque tactics, and outright hostility – what does this tell you about the character of each of these candidates? Four more years of ignorant and imcompent W-like behavior. Four more years of Rove-like underhandedness. Four more years of failed ideology-driven politics. Four more years of endless war mentality. Get beyond it folks – Palin is a shell and McCain is a irrational hothead who is still living in the 60s…

When the primaries were over I did not want Mcain or Obama. They were on equal level both not able to do the job. I listened, read, saw the debates. The only thing that I saw about Mcain was that he had extremely bad judgement choosing a running mate that is so far removed from main stream america that she should’t want to live here. Main stream America disagrees with most of her outlandish ideas. She hoodwinked him into making her his VP. She can’t hoodwink most of the voting population with her cutsy hockey mom nonsense. Her choice as Mcain’s vp said it all.

I’ll vote Obama because the man elicits confidence
with a strong and sincere want to help the people of this country. He’s in touch with main stream like no other canididate has been for years

I am so tired of all of the old people that is in our government. Most are over the age of 70, what do they know about what this and the next geration need or what will be right for us. If every one would stop voting for these same old people we might move ahead instead of moving backward. The Supreme Court is just one example, look how old these people are, after a certain age, don’t you think that, maybe, they should just step down. I don’t trust the minds of someone that is so old that you can’t tell if they are thinking right. Like McCain, he is in his 70’s, is he really of clear mind, after all he did pick Palin, she seems to be just grasping at straws not really knowing what to say or do. And if something happens to McCain, she will be pres.. And at McCain’s age, it could happen. We need younger, clearer minds in our goverment.

Oh gosh, I know those who like Obama, like Obama and the Democrats; and those who like McCain, like McCain and the Republicans. But please, folks, KNOW YOUR CANDIDATE’S background — where he is from, what his values were growing up, what schools/universities he attended, what military service he was in (if any), does he have YOUR best interest at heart or will he destroy the America that we know and love. PLEASE, before you push that botton, be SURE!
